From 8th till 10th of February 2016 PDAgroup GmbH invited experts from all over Europe to Innsbruck for the Kick-Off of the Open European Skill Match Maker (OPENSKIMR), an EU-funded project that aims to create a perfect matchmaking between talents, jobs, and the right education.

The overall objective of this pilot project is to develop and demonstrate a European-wide learning technology system to support effective (re)-training by matching the current knowledge of individuals with the most demanded labor market skills, and suggest possible learning roadmaps that can enable European citizens to acquire the required knowledge and skills.

In workshops, Design Thinking Sessions and ad-hoc get-togethers, the experienced consortium members established numerous ideas and concepts for the successful development of the Open European Skill Match Maker.

The consortium members are: PDAgroup as business partner, Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) with its academic background, and Telefónica Educación Digital S.L.U. with the right educational and media production know-how. Digital Europe and European Schoolnet will participate as sub-contractors, integrating their special expertise in the digital technology industry in Europe as well as in teaching and learning.

The consortium is proud to say that Academy Cube (AC) will be the first fully integrated user and co-creator of OPENSKIMR. The AC talent platform supports companies throughout Europe in their search for talented professionals in the STEM area and offers an extensive business partner network, a sustainable non-for-profit model with national offices all over Europe, and 12 years of experience in the field of innovative learning, recruiting and consulting. To this end and in order to ensure a consistent and common understanding of the skills and qualifications of the talents subscribed on the platform, Academy Cube uses the ESCO occupations and skills terminology to improve the matching of skills profiles with jobs for the ICT sector. Academy Cube will therefore serve as the pilot platform on which OPESKIMR will be developed and ESCO will be integrated.

In the future, national job agencies and other non-for-profit organizations in this area are invited to use this innovative and high qualitative open software.
